well said :)
It is important to give some exposure to the young generation before they enter university.
For sharing, my school organised junior scientist programs (for form 4 students) and we as post-grad students had the opportunity to be facilitators and instructors. This program started since 2009. It was so fun and from the students` feedback, we knew that they enjoyed the programs :)
The students had the opportunity to get involved in some light experiments. Most of the experiments were kitchen lab based, so they can easily show or demo to their families or schoolmates, it was quite fun :)
For us as post-grad students, we were happy to help out and these experiences were so great. Because of this experience, I knew that I like education based rather than research :P
In Malaysia, fresh grad Ph.D is very hard to get a grant, event a small grant, all about the politics even in grant application. I used to see this phenomenon 4 years. Thus, i actually fed up in getting an academic post in gov universities. They want all lecturers to have research for increasing the KPI, but they don't understand the hardness of getting a grant. Therefore, i wish i can get an education based academic position in private university or colleges. May be getting a post in R&D department of a private company. Anyway, all depend on my fate even in getting a job. What i can do now is apply to as many private colleges as possible :)
